A.R. Penck is the artistic pseudonym of Ralf Winkler (born in Dresden, in the German Democratic Republic). Penck has developed a vast pictorial oeuvre marked by large-scale canvases, expressive brushstrokes, vibrant colors and hints of narrative that evoke neo-primitive imagery.
