Peter Halley si trasferì a New York nel 1980. La sua pratica artistica è solitamente associata al Minimalismo e al Neo-Geo, abbreviazione di Neo-Geometric Conceptualism, un termine coniato negli anni Ottanta per indicare un tipo di pittura che rifiutava i principi dell’Espressionismo Astratto.
