Gilbert & George

  • 1943

Though Gilbert & George use a variety of media including photography, video and performance, they consider all of their works to be sculptures. It is Gilbert & George’s intention to transmit emotions suggested to them by their environment as directly as possible. Topics such as sex, race, death, AIDS, religion and politics are recurrent in their art.
