Giovanni Anselmo has created an oeuvre that deals with universal questions concerning the human condition and the natural world. In 1965, during an evening walk on Mount Stromboli, Anselmo experienced a sudden awareness of being but a minute part of a vast continuum of universal energy. This epiphany turned his attention to essential themes such as the finite and infinite, microcosm and macrocosm, and forces of nature like gravity, tension, magnetism and energy.
